Frequently asked questions

What is storage?

Storage is the process of securely storing your belongings in a dedicated storage space. Our state-of-the-art facilities are equipped with advanced security features to ensure that your items are always protected.

Why do people use storage?

There are a few reasons why people use storage, including decluttering their homes, renovating their properties, furniture storage, student storage, or when they go travelling. Storage can also be a great solution for businesses who need to free up some extra space and need to store documents or business stock.

How does storage work?

Getting started with storage is easy. Simply get in touch with a member of one of our friendly teams to request a quote and reserve your unit, or you can get a free quote online. Once the paperwork has been completed and you have selected your ideal storage unit, you can start storing your belongings in the unit right away.

Will my belongings be secure?

Yes, all of our storage facilities are equipped with advanced security features, including 24/7 CCTV surveillance, individually alarmed units, and digital access control. Security is our top priority, so you can rest assured that whatever you choose to store with us will be safe.

Will my goods be protected if they are damaged whilst in your storage facility?

Boxx Storage can provide protection for your stored goods on a new for old replacement basis via an enhanced liability cover known as StoreProtect.

StoreProtect is an extension to our standard Storage Agreement that allows us to accept liability for loss or damage to your goods in many circumstances.

StoreProtect provides continuous protection for your goods for the duration of your stay which can be amended if you add or remove items.

Our liability under StoreProtect is accepted on a new for old replacement basis for most goods that you store. However, there are limitations for some items such as jewellery, watches, furs, fine art, electrical items, beers, wines and spirits. StoreProtect is not available for motor cars stored outside on site or for food and perishable goods which cannot be stored.

Please read our StoreProtect Addendum for full details of the protection that can be purchased.

In order to benefit from StoreProtect you must declare an appropriate new replacement value for all goods stored (known as the Maximum Replacement Value). This figure must be adequate to always include all goods stored with us at any time.

Can I arrange my own goods insurance?

If you decide not to opt for StoreProtect our standard terms limit our liability for your goods to a maximum of £100 and only in the event of our negligence. You are also required to arrange insurance at your own expense for your stated Maximum Replacement Value for the duration of your storage.

What happens if I do not declare an adequate Maximum Replacement Value?

If the Maximum Replacement Value you provide is less than the actual total Replacement Value of all your property stored at the time of loss or damage, then our liability under StoreProtect will be reduced to reflect the proportion that your Maximum Replacement Value bears to the actual total Replacement Value (“Proportional Reduction”).

For example: if the replacement value of your property is £10,000 but you have declared a Maximum Replacement Value of £5,000, our liability will be reduced by 50%. So, if £3,000 worth of Your Property is lost or damaged, our liability would be £1,500.
